Matt Hardy Advocates For Swerve Strickland As AEW’s Next World Champion

In a recent episode of his podcast “Extreme Life”, wrestling personality Matt Hardy shared his opinion on the current AEW title scenario. During the discussion, he suggested that Swerve Strickland should be the next AEW World Champion, defeating Jon Moxley, at Dynasty 2025.

Here are some of the key moments from the podcast:

Discussing why Swerve Strickland is deserving of the AEW World Championship title, Matt Hardy said, “I believe AEW is in need of a new champion. It’s time for fresh beginnings and a novel direction. So, I’d support Swerve capturing the title. They need to make a decision and it should be soon. There has to be a strategy in place for the storyline around the new champion, and it should be something they can build upon for a few months. The ‘Death Riders’ angle is close to its expiration.”

Talking about Cody Rhodes and John Cena’s March 31st Raw segment, Hardy shared, “I absolutely loved this week’s segment – it was by far the best between the duo. They were focused, and it was impressive how they emphasized why this match is of such importance and what’s at stake for both Cody Rhodes and John Cena. We finally got some clarity on why John has teamed up with The Rock, though I wish they’d delve deeper into it. The anticipation for the match is now off the charts, especially after our last two discussions. To see this bout come to fruition is something many are eagerly awaiting.”
