Matt Cardona recently spoke with Lucha Libre Online’s Michael Morales Torres about a wide variety of topics, including what type of advice he’d give to any superstars who were released from WWE.
“The people who got recently released or people whoever get released, they have two choices,” Cardona said. “They can either make that the end of their career or make it the beginning of their career. I personally chose to make it the beginning of my career. Brian Myers did the same. Gallows and Anderson felt the same. Heath felt the same. Chelsea Green feels the same. If you want to feel bad about yourself, and just say: ‘Poor me’; if you want to blame other people or blame the company, you can do that, but it’s not going to change your position. It’s not going to make you happier. You can be your own boss right now, and change your destiny.”
Cardona went on to say that he knows what he’s saying sounds like typical pep talk stuff, but that he really does believe in what he’s talking about. “I know it sounds like a lot of positive BS, but it’s the truth. If you want something, you gotta work your ass off for it. You gotta be ready to put that work. IMPACT is letting people like myself, Brian Myers, The Good Brothers… Letting us be us. Giving us those opportunities. We are capitalizing on them. If we weren’t capitalizing on them, we wouldn’t be there. IMPACT wouldn’t want us. But they know that when the red light is on that we can deliver.”
Finally, Cardona touched on a few superstars that he’d love to see make the move to IMPACT Wrestling, including a handful of names that WWE recently released.
“There were so many guys that were released like Tony Nese, Tyler Breeze, Fandango, Daivari, The Bollywood Boys… I know they will deliver as well. I’m not saying they’re going to come to IMPACT, but IMPACT can be the perfect spot for guys like that”.
