WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently made a guest appearance on the “Six Feet Under” podcast where he shared insight about The Undertaker’s influential position behind the scenes in WWE, regarded as a respected veteran of the business.
Below are the key discussions from the podcast:
Mark Henry discussed that The Undertaker played a role akin to a mob boss where nothing could be done without his approval. “It’s similar to the mob, where everything needs to be greenlit by the boss. Most thought that was Vince [McMahon], but it was actually him [Undertaker]. I recall numerous instances when Vince would consult Undertaker, rather than the other way round”, Henry shared.
Henry also reflected about how The Undertaker used to counsel wrestlers about their contracts and career decisions. He highlighted an example where wrestlers on the brink of getting transferred to WCW from WWF would question their decision citing salary benefits. Undertaker, aware of Vince’s strategic plan, would advise them otherwise, saying, “I wouldn’t go there if I were you.”
