Mark Henry On When He’ll Return To The Ring: ‘I’ve Got To Get In Better Shape’

Mark Henry isn’t quite ready to return to the ring.
Since “The World’s Strongest Man” signed with All Elite Wrestling, fans have been speculating about his eventual first match back. After all, Henry has made it clear that he wants to step into the ring again.
But in a recent interview with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Henry explained that he’s still getting in shape and recovering from the beating his body took throughout his lengthy WWE career.
“I’ve got to get in better shape,” said Henry. “I have been a pro wrestler for 25 years, there are things that ache still, and I want to make sure I don’t feel any of that. I’m getting there.”
As for his potential opponents when he does return to in-ring action, Henry admitted that he’s not sure who’d like to face. He noted that rather than looking at other AEW stars as potential opponents, he looks at them as people who he can help build up.
“From the standpoint of who I would face, I have no clue,” said Henry. “I’m not looking at the talent as one to have a competition with. I look at everybody as let me help build these guys up as much as possible because their success is our success.”
