In a recent episode of his digital show, “Lex Expressed”, ex-WWE and WCW professional wrestler Lex Luger shared insight into his wrestling career, including his constant transitions between hero and villain roles.
Here are some key points from the podcast episode:
Discussing his regular shift from hero to villain, he stated: “I would typically portray a confident hero or an arrogant villain. I often found I would be switched between the two quite frequently. Some spectators suggested, ‘One never knows what Lex is up to.’ Perhaps this variability proved to be a disadvantage in my career.”
On the topic of his personal preference, he expressed: “I took pleasure in performing both roles — the villainous role potentially a tad more. It offered a certain amount of freedom. Routinely, we’d improvise during the wrestling match. Once Ricky Steamboat trained me on how to direct a match, I discovered I enjoyed that aspect slightly more.”
