Lex Luger was a big fan of seeing Sting’s sons involved in an on-screen angle in AEW earlier this month.

On a recent episode of AEW Dynamite, Sting and Darby Allin were attacked by The Young Bucks after Sting and Allin won the AEW Tag Team Championships.

Speaking on a recent edition of his “Lex Expressed” podcast, the wrestling legend opined on Sting’s kids being involved in the angle, Sting’s recent promo talking about his father passing away, and more.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On the kids being involved in the angle: “My initial feelings are, I was surprised because Sting’s family, especially his boys, have never been involved really. I know the boys have been to a couple of house shows here and there and got a couple of clips on camera, but I was surprised to see them ringside and actually be a part of the angle where they got in the ring. I was very surprised by that. I thought it was pretty neat that they were there. I thought that was really good. I wasn’t shocked at the Young Bucks obviously came in the ring and did what they did. I think they’re just doing good business and setting the matchup the way it needs to be set up. The white suits and the blood, that was an old-school touch right there.”

On Sting’s promo talking about his father passing away: “I knew Lee, his father, who I knew very well, was struggling a little bit but the passing of his dad, wow. The timing of that. He gave a very heartfelt interview about [how] this reminds you of mortality. I thought it was a great interview by Sting in that regard, an emotional one, and I think the match is getting set up the right way.”

In other news, Ricardo Rodriguez was paired with Alberto El Patron in WWE, and he recently appeared on the “Under the Ring” to discuss what it was like working alongside El Patron (Alberto Del Rio in WWE), and more.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On being aware of who El Patron was before WWE: “I knew of him because I grew up watching Lucha Libre and I first started training in Mexican Lucha Libre, so I was very aware of the Dos Caras family. I was doing, I was like, ‘Hey, who’s this Alberto Del Rio guy.’ And he goes, ‘That’s Dos Caras Junior.’ I was like, ‘What? No way.’ So then I kinda clicked, and I fanboyed a little bit so that was kind of cool.”

On their on-screen pairing: “I wasn’t just the ring announcer, there was times I would get with the agent who would put the match together. Let’s say, Alberto or Cena would be doing promos so they don’t have time to put together the match. And then as the match would happen, I’m calling it, so if you ever see me running back and forth? It’s because I’m calling it to them.”

Lex Luger, a wrestling legend, recently expressed his thoughts on Sting’s sons being involved in an on-screen angle in AEW. Luger shared his surprise at seeing Sting’s family, especially his boys, being a part of the angle. While they had made occasional appearances at house shows, Luger was taken aback to see them ringside and even getting in the ring. He found it neat and thought it added an interesting element to the storyline.

Luger also commented on The Young Bucks attacking Sting and Darby Allin after they won the AEW Tag Team Championships. He wasn’t shocked by their actions, as he believed they were simply doing good business and setting up the matchup the way it needed to be. Luger appreciated the old-school touch of the white suits and blood, which added a dramatic flair to the angle.

The wrestling legend also discussed Sting’s recent promo where he talked about his father passing away. Luger revealed that he knew Sting’s father, Lee, who was struggling before his passing. He found the timing of Sting’s emotional interview about mortality to be impactful and believed it was setting up the match in the right way.

In other news, Ricardo Rodriguez, who was paired with Alberto El Patron (Alberto Del Rio in WWE), recently appeared on the “Under the Ring” podcast to discuss his experience working alongside El Patron. Rodriguez shared that he was aware of El Patron’s background in Lucha Libre before joining WWE. Being a fan of Lucha Libre himself, Rodriguez was excited to work with someone from the famous Dos Caras family.

Rodriguez also revealed that his role as a ring announcer went beyond just announcing. There were times when he would work with the agent to put together the match, especially when wrestlers like Alberto or John Cena were busy with promos. During the matches, Rodriguez would call out instructions to the wrestlers, which explained his occasional running back and forth.

Overall, both Lex Luger and Ricardo Rodriguez provided interesting insights into the world of professional wrestling. From Luger’s surprise at Sting’s sons’ involvement to Rodriguez’s experience working with Alberto El Patron, these discussions shed light on the behind-the-scenes aspects of the industry. Fans can look forward to more exciting developments in AEW and WWE as these storylines continue to unfold.
