In earlier times, Kevin Nash and CM Punk’s on-screen rivalry had fans on the edge of their seats. Today, the WWE phenomenon expresses utmost admiration for his one-time adversary and fellow ex-World Champion’s work.
During a recent edition of his podcast, “Kliq This”, Nash did not hold back on expressing his admiration for Punk, especially in the lead-up to the much-anticipated WrestleMania 41. He said,
“Everything that Phil’s [Punk] doing is so spot on because it’s exactly how it should be. Everything feels just a tad underplayed, it feels real, now we’ve got a situation where we’re in the dreaded three-way.”
In his view, a condition for Punk’s forthcoming confrontation at WrestleMania 41 could remarkably elevate his Night One headline act. Nash elaborated,
“Between Roman and Punk, there’s really not heat. I think that the intermediary here is Paul [Heyman] slightly wavering in his alliance with Roman. I’m unsure if it’s too subtle and we are short of time… So, I foresee the necessity to add something akin to a Hell in a Cell, which will provide the much-needed element to the match and give them a chance to sell while the remaining two engage in spots.”
Looking forward at WrestleMania 41, Punk is set to take on Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns – a noteworthy occasion as it marks Punk’s initial experience as the spotlight act at WWE’s most touted pay-per-view event of the year.
