In 2016, WWE held an event called the Cruiserweight Classic tournament that included wrestling titans such as Zack Sabre Jr., Kota Ibushi, Cedric Alexander, and many more.
While chatting with Sportskeeda recently, Cedric Alexander spoke fondly of his journey within the WWE and his experience during the event. He distinctly remembered,
“When the news of my releasing hit, two match-ups continuously preyed on my mind. I was determined to make these bouts happen again, one of them with Kota Ibushi. I’ve encountered many people saying they wish to see that. Our one-time match at CWC, the Cruiserweight Classic, was a turning point in my career, changing my life forever. I hope to replicate that spectacle one more time. Another bout I eagerly await is with Mustafa Ali. We’ve fought with each other in various corners of the world like France, Italy, Spain and all over the U.S. I look forward to sparking that rivalry again, especially now that we have evolved as athletes. His success in TNA shows his growth, while I’m excited to start a new chapter in the indies. I can’t wait to see how our upgraded versions perform against each other.”
In a separate discussion with TSC News, professional wrestler Kayden Carter shared about her role models in the wrestling world while she was growing up. She mentioned the Four Horsewomen- Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks/Mercedes Mone, and Bayley. In her words,
“This might not sound right, but I’ve always admired the journeys of the Four Horsewomen since I watched them relentlessly in that era. Following their paths, not their personas, has always been my goal. Each of these women embarked on a unique journey that I felt a certain resonance with. Hence, I’ve always aspired to experience and endure similar trials and triumphs.”
