Justin Roberts experienced a distinct flashback as he watched Bryan Danielson employ a necktie as a weapon against Jon Moxley in the latest episode of AEW Dynamite.
In the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam episode, Moxley had an impressive victory against Darby Allin, setting himself up for a World Championship face-off against Danielson at AEW WrestleDream 2024.
Post the match, Danielson launched an unexpected attack on Moxley, utilizing a necktie to suffocate his previous ally, resulting in the intervention of the BCC.
As seen on Instagram, Roberts could evidently empathize with Moxley’s distress in this predicament.
Roberts is rather notorious for being at the receiving end of a similar attack by Bryan during the Nexus’ WWE premiere in June 2010. This incident led to Danielson’s termination from WWE.
Contrary to the real reason, Danielson’s departure from Nexus was conveyed on-screen as due to his guilt over the attack on Roberts and other WWE celebrities.
Danielson made a comeback to WWE later in August at SummerSlam 2010, supporting Team WWE in their group battle against the Nexus.
