One of the names synonymous with Make-A-Wish Foundation is none other than John Cena. Cena happens to be Make-A-Wish’s number one wish-maker of all time and it so happens that the organization is celebrating it’s 40 years of existence. Cena took to Twitter to post a special video commemorating the occasion by telling fans what his favorite Make-A-Wish was and it happened to be his very first one. Here’s why:
“So in my first experience of Make-A-Wish I didn’t know what it was and I was asked to go into a room to a bunch of people which I willingly did and it was a really fun time and when I left, the live event representative was very thankful and said like, ‘Hey that was great, thank you very much for doing that. That was for Make-A-Wish,’ which led me to my next question, ‘Well, what’s Make-A-Wish?’ And so started a wonderful two-decade relationship with an organization that’s become very important in my life. So when people ask me about like, ‘Showcase some of your favorite wishes,’ it’s that first one that introduced me to the concept of being able to provide happiness, can provide hope which indeed which can provide our most valuable asset. So that first one’s always the most memorable to me.” (Transcription credit should go to @DominicDeAngelo of WrestleZone)
Cena tweeted out the following:
“I’ve had the honor of granting more than 650 Wishes and counting. Today is a day to celebrate @MakeAWish and their incredible milestone of 40 years of granting wishes. #WorldWishDay.”
