In a recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast, Jimmy Korderas, a former WWE referee, responded to the mishandled pin attempt occurring during the Damian Priest versus Seth Rollins match at the WWE Money In The Bank 2024 event.
Throughout the fight, Rollins successfully carried out a Falcon Arrow move, however, the referee halted counting at two, even though Priest didn’t kick out. This significant mishap was subsequently acknowledged by Triple H in the media interaction following the show.
Shortly thereafter, Drew McIntyre emerged carrying his Money In The Bank briefcase, planning to enforce his contract. The situation escalated when CM Punk unexpectedly stormed into the ring and assaulted McIntyre with a chair and a cable, then struck him in the face using the title belt. Consequently, Damian Priest secured a pin on McIntyre, thus retaining the World Heavyweight Championship.
You can refer to some highlight clips from the discussed podcast below:
On the incident in Damian Priest vs. Seth Rollins: “My perspective on the match incident is…I suspect Damian got slightly rattled. Regarding the three-count, it definitely should’ve been completed. The mistake was so blatant, there was zero ambiguity – the numbers simply couldn’t be manipulated.”
On his probable approach to the match conclusion: “I would have accepted responsibility. I would have admitted, ‘Apologies Hunter, I blundered. The responsibility can understandably be shared, yet, I would willingly shoulder the criticism for it.'”
