AJ Styles and Joseph Parker came out during tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown to debut the Phenomenal Intercontinental Statistics System, but instead were met by Jeff Hardy, who somehow got himself a title shot at SummerSlam.
In the ring, Styles mentioned how he believed no one was worthy of challenging him for his WWE Intercontinental Championship, and debuted P.I.S.S. to prove it. Soon after, Jeff Hardy made his way to the ring, and said that although he’s put losing out on a chance to win the title behind him, he still thinks it would be very cool to take on Styles for the title. Styles thought about the challenge for a moment, but quickly laughed them off, saying Hardy hadn’t earned a shot and that he wasn’t going to give Hardy a “pity party.” Hardy immediately attacked Styles after this, tossing him out of the ring and causing Styles to run backstage. Once there, he ended up granting Hardy a title shot, saying that at SummerSlam, he would make sure Hardy was erased.
