Last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown opened with a chaotic scene that saw Jeff Hardy blamed for a hit-and-run incident that saw Elias suffer some serious injuries. After being cleared in the incident, Hardy appeared on tonight’s episode, and more chaos ensued.
Hardy started tonight’s show by coming down to the ring, and explaining his side of last week’s incident. According to the superstar, Hardy says that as he arrived at the arena, he was assaulted after exiting his vehicle. When he awoke, Hardy claimed he reeked of alcohol and had a massive headache, leading to the confusion. Hardy goes on to say that the police gave him every sobriety test they could and he passed every one, and then revealed that an eyewitness at the police station claimed to see a person with a red hair and red beard running from the scene.
Soon after Hardy revealed that it may have been Sheamus who was behind everything, the Irish superstar made his way out, and began to lay into Hardy. Sheamus called Hardy nothing but a junkie, and said that any fans lying to the cops were nothing but enablers. Soon after, the two quickly into a brief brawl, where Hardy came running up the ramp to Sheamus. Unfortunately for Hardy, Sheamus was able to land a Brogue Kick to Hardy, before continuously slamming him into the plexiglass barricade.
