On a recent episode of his podcast, “The Snake Pit,” Jake Roberts, who has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, shared his thoughts on various topics, including his experience working with Ted DiBiase Sr. at WrestleMania 6, the remuneration he received for the match, and more.

Below are some key takeaways from Roberts’ podcast:

When discussing his collaboration with Ted DiBiase at WrestleMania 6, Roberts said: “You’re doing it for the sake of entertainment, both for yourself and the audience. However, it would be fantastic to receive a significant payday. During WrestleMania, the feud between DiBiase and myself was one of the most anticipated. However, the payment did not reflect that. If my memory serves me correctly, I think I earned around 25 grand for that match.”

Roberts also talked about selling the Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior bout at WrestleMania 6: “It was a straightforward task. Hogan was becoming monotonous for fans. They desired a fresh face. And who could be a better option than Warrior?”

When asked whether he would have made Warrior the WWE Champion, Roberts replied, “I think they had no choice but to do so. But they also had sufficient time. They even set up a ring in Stamford, Connecticut for the two of them to rehearse and choreograph their match. They spent numerous days doing this. Despite everything, I was highly impressed with the effort Hogan put in with Warrior. They delivered an incredible match.”
