During his “Snake Pit” podcast, Roberts spoke about releases in wrestling and how things were during his time in the ring. He said,

“Brother, it happens, man. It’s an evil f—ing business, you know? But, hey, look at it this way: it might be your biggest break. You never know.

“Guys, start over, man. I guess it was a lot easier for me because back in my day, we started over every time we moved from territory to territory. So, you had to learn how to fit in. Well, there’s still a place for you guys in wrestling — it’s just not with WWE. Look around you, you’ll see what I’m talking about. You’ll get it.”

In the world of professional wrestling, being released from a major promotion like WWE can be a devastating blow to a wrestler’s career. However, WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW talent Jake Roberts is offering some words of encouragement to those who have recently been let go by WWE.

Last month, WWE made headlines by releasing over a dozen Superstars from both the main roster and NXT. This came shortly after the company had also cut over 100 employees from their offices in Stamford. The releases left many wrestlers uncertain about their future in the industry.

During an episode of his podcast, “Snake Pit,” Roberts discussed the topic of releases in wrestling and shared his own experiences from his time in the ring. He acknowledged that the wrestling business can be ruthless and described it as an “evil f—ing business.” However, he also emphasized that being released could potentially be a wrestler’s biggest break.

Roberts encouraged those who were let go to see it as an opportunity to start over and find success outside of WWE. He reflected on his own career, mentioning that back in his day, wrestlers had to start over every time they moved from one territory to another. This meant constantly adapting and learning how to fit in with new promotions.

According to Roberts, there is still a place for these released wrestlers in the wrestling industry; it just may not be with WWE. He urged them to look around and explore other promotions where they could potentially thrive. His message was one of hope and resilience, reminding wrestlers that there are always new opportunities waiting for them.

While being released from WWE can undoubtedly be a challenging experience, it is important for wrestlers to remember that their careers are not defined by one promotion. The wrestling landscape is vast and diverse, with numerous promotions worldwide offering different platforms for talent to showcase their skills.

In recent years, the wrestling industry has seen a surge in popularity and growth, with promotions like AEW, Impact Wrestling, and New Japan Pro Wrestling gaining significant traction. These promotions provide alternative avenues for wrestlers to continue their careers and achieve success.

It is crucial for released wrestlers to stay positive, stay motivated, and keep pursuing their dreams. They should take advantage of the opportunities available to them outside of WWE and continue honing their craft. With determination and hard work, they can find success and make a name for themselves in the wrestling world.

In conclusion, Jake Roberts’ message to those recently released from WWE is one of hope and encouragement. He reminds them that being let go could be their biggest break and urges them to start over and explore other opportunities in the wrestling industry. While the road may be challenging, with perseverance and a willingness to adapt, these wrestlers can find success outside of WWE and continue to pursue their passion for professional wrestling.
