Welcome to another installment of our Monday Morning Q&A! The aim of this discussion is to get your thoughts on different subjects, and I’ve prepared five questions for this week. Of course, I’ll share my answers as well, but the main focus here is to hear from YOU! So, feel free to jump in!
1) How are your feelings towards The Mogul Embassy breaking down with Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun, and Toa Liona turning their backs on Swerve Strickland?
Personally, I think it’s a fantastic development. The group never truly clicked and lacked a common thread tying them together. Swerve, as a ‘good guy,’ doesn’t need the backing of the top dogs on the roster; it lowers the stakes for him. He should keep Nana as his manager, considering their great partnership. As for Cage, Kaun, and Liona, I wouldn’t object to them parting ways too.
2) Press reporter Lucas Charpiot received backlash for enquiring about Drew Gulak’s termination at the post-Backlash press event. Did he step out of line? Are these press meetings merely crafted to glorify the event, or should they prioritize journalistic genuineness?
The backlash Lucas received seems unwarranted to me. It’s the obligation of a journalist to inquire about topical matters. This wasn’t scripted promotional content – it was a press conference. WWE should anticipate rugged questions and provide suitable responses. In my opinion, the question about Drew Gulak’s dismissal was valid and deserved a clear, positive response.
3) Given the names of the 12 women contending for it, who’s your favorite for the NXT Women’s North American Championship?
The competition is tough with Sol Ruca, Thea Hail, Jaida Parker, Brinley Reece, Michin, Fallon Henley, Lash Legend, Ivy Nile, Izzi Dame, Kelani Jordan, Tatum Paxley, and Wren Sinclair aiming for the title. Considering the current heel champion Roxanne Perez, it would be refreshing to have a babyface winner. My personal preference would lean towards Thea Hail due to her charismatic presence and excellent promotional skills.
4) WWE has been ambiguous about the Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul match. What’s your prediction? Should both belts be at stake or not? How should things go?
The predicament is confusing, to say the least. Initially, it indeed seemed like it was only a Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul match, but Rhodes’ mention of aspiring to claim the Grand Slam title suggests otherwise. However, the execution isn’t clear yet. Keeping all current plotlines and strategies in mind, it can be said that the best outcome would be Paul losing the US title and coming head-to-head with Cody for his belt.
5) Saudi Arabia has shown interest in a deeper partnership with WWE, including potentially hosting Royal Rumble and/or WrestleMania. Would you support this? If you were in WWE’s shoes, what would be your offering?
Personally, I wouldn’t endorse having WrestleMania or Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia due to various political and structural reasons. Instead, I’d propose hosting a third annual event there, rather than giving them either of the two pillar events. These shows require a captivating audience which the Saudi shows often fail to draw.
Let’s now hear from you! Please share your thoughts and perspectives on these topics in the comments section below!
