On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, D-Von Dudley discussed the Dudley Boyz’ run in WWE and how they headlined shows with The Hardys and Edge & Christian.

D-Von said,There were tag team guys that did not main event in WWE. But the Dudleys, Edge and Christian, and the Hardys did; it was on ‘Raw,’ ‘SmackDown,’ and live events. We had built up that type of chemistry with each other where we were able to show that we could carry a main event status on a show, and we did that. There was never a tag team [in WWE], correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t even think the Road Warriors even did that, where they were main eventing, closing out a show.”

In a recent appearance on the “Cheap Heat” podcast, Becky Lynch discussed Kevin Patrick’s “heartbreaking” departure from WWE in January.

Patrick joined WWE in March 2021 and became the lead announcer for RAW in October 2022. He then moved to SmackDown in August 2023, before being released.

Lynch said, Yeah, it was. It was. It was heartbreaking. We all loved him. We loved him. I love him. He’s great, and he’s so great, and he was always working so hard. He would always find you, ‘What do you want me do talk about? Let me take all these notes.’ He was always asking and always asking trying to improve and trying to get better and tell the best story, and that goes a long way too, that he cared enough to always be doing that. He was great.

Becky Lynch’s memoir, The Man: Not Your Average Average Girl, will be released tomorrow, Tuesday, March 26.

In the world of professional wrestling, tag teams have always played a significant role. They bring a unique dynamic to the ring, showcasing their teamwork and chemistry. One of the most iconic tag teams in WWE history is The Dudley Boyz, consisting of Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley. Recently, D-Von Dudley discussed their run in WWE and how they headlined shows with other legendary tag teams like The Hardys and Edge & Christian.

During an episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, D-Von Dudley reflected on their success as a tag team. He mentioned that while there were other tag teams in WWE, it was The Dudley Boyz, along with The Hardys and Edge & Christian, who had the opportunity to main event shows on “Raw,” “SmackDown,” and live events. This was a significant achievement for tag teams, as it was rare for them to be given such a prominent position on the card.

D-Von attributed their success to the chemistry they had built with each other. The Dudley Boyz, The Hardys, and Edge & Christian were known for their intense and high-flying matches, which captivated audiences worldwide. Their matches were often filled with jaw-dropping spots and innovative moves that pushed the boundaries of what tag teams could accomplish in the ring.

What set these teams apart was not only their in-ring abilities but also their ability to tell compelling stories. They were able to connect with the audience on an emotional level, making fans invest in their matches and rivalries. This combination of athleticism and storytelling made them stand out from other tag teams in WWE history.

D-Von also made an interesting observation about the history of tag team wrestling in WWE. He mentioned that even legendary tag teams like The Road Warriors (also known as The Legion of Doom) did not have the opportunity to main event and close out shows. This further emphasizes the significance of The Dudley Boyz, The Hardys, and Edge & Christian’s accomplishments.

In a separate interview on the “Cheap Heat” podcast, WWE Superstar Becky Lynch discussed another topic related to WWE. She talked about the departure of Kevin Patrick, a former WWE announcer, in January. Patrick joined WWE in March 2021 and quickly became the lead announcer for “Raw” in October 2022. Lynch expressed her sadness over Patrick’s departure, describing it as “heartbreaking.” She praised Patrick’s work ethic and dedication to his craft. According to Lynch, Patrick was always willing to go the extra mile to improve and tell the best story possible. He would approach wrestlers and ask for their input, taking notes and striving to make each segment better. Lynch’s words highlight the impact Patrick had on the WWE roster and how much he was appreciated by his colleagues.
