There is confusion surrounding the location of the money Dominik Mysterio earned for his participation in WWE SummerSlam 2005.
The event was highlighted by a memorable Ladder Match between Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio where custody over Dominik was the wager. Dominik played a key part in this match.
When the clash ended, it was Rey who emerged victorious, thanks to a fateful intervention by young Dominik, who assisted his father.
On a recent episode of the “No Contest Wrestling” podcast, Dominik revealed his uncertainty concerning the money he was paid for his part in the match.
He further explains, “In San Diego, where I was brought up, life was tough. When asked for a Mercedes, I got a BMW instead. I was raised in a strict household. Even though I had my own room, my sister’s was right across. I wasn’t allowed a private area upstairs. Times were difficult. They made me do my own laundry. I had to take care of a lot of things and I wasn’t paid for it. I’m convinced that’s illegal, it was like child labor. To add insult to injury, when I got paid for appearances in WWE events such as SummerSlam, I never found out where that money went. I need to discuss this issue with her. I purchased a bike and my mother replied, ‘That’s where your money went.’ How does it add up when I’ve done three pay-per-views, several weeks of TV and all I got was a bike?”
