Cruiserweight Championship Gets Renamed, Defended Next Week On NXT
During a promo of what’s to come on NXT, WWE also revealed the fact that the WWE Cruiserweight Championship is now renamed, getting an NXT brand and being called the NXT Cruiserweight Championship. The renaming didn’t get much notoriety, but it will next week, as Drew Gulak will put it on the line against Lio Rush in a title match next week on NXT.
With the Cruiserweight Championship now an NXT branded belt, it’ll be interesting to see what superstars in 205 Live strive to compete for in terms of a championship. As NXT continues to grow in popularity, adding yet another belt to their stable will surely have huge consequences, and see even more competition in terms of superstars.
