AEW could host one of its pay-per-view events on a Chris Jericho Rock ‘n Rager at Sea cruise if the inaugural AEW World Champion has his way.

During a live Q&A edition on his “Talk is Jericho” podcast, Jericho was asked about hosting an AEW event at sea and he’s all for it. He said,

“I think it would be such a great idea. I really loved doing Dynamite from the cruise… It was an amazing experience to do it; we taped it, which is so funny because, at the time, Tony [Khan] was really against taping the show. Then eight months later, every show is taped because of the pandemic.

“It reminded me of when we used to do Nitro from Club La Vela in Panama City every year. You knew you were getting to see something different from the norm.”

In addition to the Club La Vela, WCW would host its first episode of Nitro from the Mall of America, which marked the WCW return of Lex Luger.

AEW’s next pay-per-view will be the first-ever Dynasty event. The show will take place on Sunday, April 21, at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri.

AEW World Champion Chris Jericho has expressed his desire to host one of the company’s pay-per-view events on a cruise. During a live Q&A session on his podcast, “Talk is Jericho,” Jericho discussed the idea and expressed his enthusiasm for it.

Jericho stated that he loved the experience of doing an episode of AEW Dynamite from a cruise ship. He mentioned that although Tony Khan, the president of AEW, was initially against taping the show, circumstances changed due to the pandemic, and now all shows are being taped. Jericho compared the cruise experience to WCW’s Nitro episodes that were filmed at Club La Vela in Panama City every year, which offered a unique and different atmosphere for viewers.

Hosting a pay-per-view event on a cruise ship would provide AEW with a distinctive setting for their shows. It would allow fans to enjoy professional wrestling in a unique environment, surrounded by the ocean and all the amenities a cruise ship has to offer. This concept could attract both wrestling fans and cruise enthusiasts, creating a crossover event that appeals to a broader audience.

AEW has been known for its innovative approach to professional wrestling, and hosting a pay-per-view event on a cruise ship would further solidify their reputation as a groundbreaking promotion. It would also provide an opportunity for AEW to showcase their talent in a different light and create memorable moments that stand out from traditional wrestling events.

While no official plans have been announced regarding hosting a pay-per-view event on a cruise ship, Jericho’s endorsement of the idea may influence AEW’s decision-making process. The company has already proven its willingness to experiment with unique venues and concepts, such as their recent collaboration with New Japan Pro-Wrestling for the “Forbidden Door” storyline.

In the meantime, AEW is gearing up for their next pay-per-view event, Dynasty, which will take place on April 21 at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri. This event is highly anticipated by fans, as it will feature top AEW stars competing for championships and delivering exciting matches.

Whether or not AEW decides to host a pay-per-view event on a cruise ship remains to be seen. However, the idea has garnered support from fans and industry insiders alike. It would undoubtedly be an exciting venture for AEW and could potentially revolutionize the way professional wrestling events are presented in the future.
