Chris Jericho Confirms His Segment With Matt Hardy Was Filmed Twice

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer radio reported a few days ago that Chris Jericho disliked his segment with Matt Hardy during AEW Dynamite and wanted to film it again.
Chris Jericho confirmed on a Facebook live stream last night that this report is indeed true. The segment featured Jericho and Hardy trading blows before The Inner Circle and The Elite joined in another show ending brawl.
The original plan for the segment was to film it before Dynamite aired on Wednesday but since it was light outside of the arena and it was shining in, the segment would have obviously looked wrong. The entirety of Dynamite was indeed live with the exception of the Kip Sabian and Darby Allin match that was taped ahead.
During the time in which that match was being aired, Jericho & Hardy re-taped the segment. Everyone involved reportedly liked the second version much better. Jericho had the following to say, “They filmed it the night before. Wednesday comes I didn’t really like the way that it turned out, it wasn’t my vision, really. So we said, ‘Let’s do it again Wednesday and we’ll do it right before the show starts.’ Keep in mind, there is nobody coming into the venue so we thought we’d film this at 8, but the problem was the sun hadn’t gone down yet and it was still fairly light inside the venue.”
