WWE/TNA inductee into the Hall of Fame, Bully Ray, expressed his displeasure concerning the manner in which Ethan Page made his first appearance during this week’s WWE NXT. Page, an accomplished pro from AEW, seemed to be overshadowed in his debut.
Spectators saw Ethan Page, a talent synonymous with All-Ego, make his WWE entrance in a rather notable fashion. He made his debut on the May 28th episode of WWE NXT, where he launched an attack on the reigning WWE NXT Champion, Trick Williams.
During the latest episode of the podcast known as “Busted Open Radio”, Bully Ray shared his perspective. He believed that Page’s debut was eclipsed by an unexpected appearance from Jordynne Grace, a notable TNA celebrity. He commented on the situation,
“Page’s debut wasn’t appealing for me at all; initially, he seemed to be upstaged by Jordynne Grace. It is certain, regardless of what anyone says, Jordynne was the talking point of that evening. As such, he ended up remaining in Jordynne’s shadow for today. We’re yet to see how things will unfold for Ethan Page.
I believe he has been out of the public eye for long enough that his debut could have been handled differently; he was introduced as a major player, I disagree. I don’t view Page as someone of substantial importance and whether he can become someone substantial remains to be seen. Personally, I would have favoured the traditional route with his introduction. Some more meaningful presentation, or something along those lines. Next week, the continuation of the story will definitely be interesting.”
Jordynne Grace has been scheduled to compete against WWE NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez, for the title at WWE NXT Battleground. The bout will take place on June 9 at UFC Apex.
Contrary to some reports claiming that the former AEW wrestler, Ethan Page, has indeed signed a contract with WWE, Page insists that he is not currently under contract with WWE.
