Danielson addressed his victory in a post-match promo segment, and you can check out some highlights below:

On how Eddie Kingston is not tough mentally: “Here we are less than three minutes after I just beat Eddie Kingston. My heart rate’s already slowed down, and I’m here meditating. And I didn’t expect you guys to come in here and film me, but I’m glad you did because this is a teachable moment. You see, there’s a difference between me and Eddie Kingston. Eddie Kingston, physically, is tough as nails. You see it every time. He pours his whole heart every time he wrestles. But where he’s not tough is mentally. You see, you have to be both in this world because bad things are going to happen. In a tournament like the Continental Classic, bad things are going to happen.”

On fighting through his injuries: “I fractured my orbital bone in two places. My vision is still blurry. I broke my arm in June and I still don’t have full strength in my arm, and if you are not tough, mentally, you are going to make every excuse for losing. Last week, Eddie Kingston said, ‘Humble in victory, humble in defeat.’ That’s just setting yourself up for defeat. I will not be defeated.”

On why he’s meditating: “This is my last full-time year in professional wrestling. I come back, and I meditate after these matches, so I can seal in every single thing that I feel out there. The one sport that I love more than anything else besides my family. The joy in victory, the pain of getting hit, all that comes in, and all of it’s sealed. And there is not a man in the Continental Classic, not my foes like Eddie Kingston, not my friends like Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli, there is not a man in the Continental Classic that’s tougher mentally or tougher physically than me.”

Bryan Danielson Makes a Strong Return in AEW Continental Classic Tournament

Bryan Danielson, also known as “The American Dragon,” made a triumphant return to the wrestling ring on Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision. In his first matchup in the AEW Continental Classic tournament, Danielson emerged victorious against Eddie Kingston.

With this win, Danielson now holds a record of 1-0 in the tournament and has accumulated three points in the Blue League. This week, he is set to face Andrade El Idolo in what promises to be an exciting match on AEW Collision. The winners of the Blue and Gold Leagues will eventually clash in the finals at AEW Worlds End 2023.

Following his victory, Danielson took the opportunity to address the audience in a post-match promo segment. He highlighted some key points that shed light on his mental and physical toughness.

One aspect Danielson emphasized was Eddie Kingston’s lack of mental toughness. While acknowledging Kingston’s physical strength and determination, Danielson pointed out that being mentally tough is equally important in the world of professional wrestling. He explained that bad things are bound to happen in tournaments like the Continental Classic, and it takes mental resilience to overcome them.

Danielson also spoke about his own journey through injuries. Despite fracturing his orbital bone in two places and still experiencing blurry vision, as well as breaking his arm earlier in the year, he refuses to make excuses for losing. He firmly believes that being mentally tough allows him to push through these challenges and avoid defeat.

The wrestler also revealed that he meditates after matches to seal in every feeling and experience he has in the ring. As this is his last full-time year in professional wrestling, he wants to cherish every moment and ensure that he leaves nothing behind. According to Danielson, there is no one in the Continental Classic tournament who can match his mental and physical toughness, whether they be foes like Eddie Kingston or friends like Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli.

The post-match promo segment featuring Danielson’s reflections was shared on social media, allowing fans to catch a glimpse of his mindset and determination. The video clip showcases his commitment to the sport and his unwavering focus on achieving success in the tournament.
