On “The Wrestling Classic” podcast, Billie Starkz recently discussed the unique challenges of juggling high school and her wrestling career during her earlier years.
A few notable moments from the podcast can be found below:
Regarding clarifying her wrestling career to her teachers: “Every week, I would show up to school with bruises and my English teacher once pulled me aside concerned. I had to reassure her that my mother wasn’t abusing me and jokingly plea with her not to report my folks to Child Protective Services.”
On influencing young admirers: “The fact that I can actually inspire others is mind-boggling. I’m still learning and growing myself. Yet, I’ve been privileged to mentor a budding wrestler named Rachel Armstrong which has been an amazing opportunity. It’s humbling and a little strange when you realize there are people who think you’re “cool” despite feeling like you’re still so new to all this.”
In a recent conversation with NJPW1972.com, Brody King expressed his excitement about fulfilling a long-standing dream by participating in Wrestle Dynasty 2025. He revealed some NJPW stars he is eager to challenge.
Some highlights of the podcast include:
Regarding his match at Wrestle Dynasty: “I embrace the challenge. Wherever I go, I aim to challenge the best. The most feared person in the promotion is who I usually target. The War Dogs have made a name for themselves as notoriously violent, lead by David Finlay.”
About his aspiration of competing at the Tokyo Dome: “NJPW STRONG gave me a sense of hope that I could return to Japan. But due to scheduling difficulties, it didn’t materialize. Beating Minoru Suzuki at Capital Collision 2022 rekindled that hope. Joining the House of Black in AEW was my priority at the time. Now, being a part of the House of Black has provided me the flexibility to carve out my own journey. Competing in the Tokyo Dome for NJPW has always been a dream. This is a long cherished dream coming true”
On potential matches with NJPW wrestlers: “Having a match between House of Black and War Dogs, or House of Black and LIJ sounds thrilling. A match with Shingo is a personal dream. There are numerous singles, tag teams, and trios I’m eager to face-off against, but Shingo Takagi is one of my top preferences.”
