As we previously reported here on eWn, it is believed that the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) has signed a TV deal with The CW Network. With that being said, NWA President Billy Corgan has not confirmed the news.

A new report from Haus of Wrestling says the NWA and the CW’s relationship may already be strained.

During the promotion’s recent “Samhain” pay-per-view event, there was a segment that saw Father James Mitchell partying with several women. At one point during the segment (see below), Mitchell can be seen ‘snorting’ a white substance. It’s heavily implied that the substance is cocaine.

It is said that the segment has caused several higher ups at the CW Network to become upset with the NWA. Those same people are now actively pushing for NWA programming to air on the CW app only, and not on television as previously planned. Billy Corgan was reportedly told that CW executives would not watch the pay-per-view events and were only concerned with the television program.

Following the cocaine spot taking place at “Samhain,” the CW Network received a ton of backlash on social media that got their attention. A source now believes there’s a “90% chance” that the NWA will air only on the CW app and not television.

As far as the reality show is concerned, the CW Network is not paying for that. Corgan is paying for it out of his own pocket and is the executive producer. The CW Network would attempt to profit from the program by selling ads. Several CW Network executives were excited about the reality show because they learned that Corgan’s wedding would be part of it.

Finally, it was added that Corgan is hopeful that some additional exposure on the network will lead to higher ticket and merchandise sales for the NWA.

The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) has recently been in the news regarding its rumored TV deal with The CW Network. However, a new report suggests that the relationship between the NWA and CW may already be strained.
During the NWA’s recent “Samhain” pay-per-view event, there was a segment featuring Father James Mitchell partying with several women. In the segment, Mitchell is seen ‘snorting’ a white substance, heavily implied to be cocaine. This controversial scene has reportedly upset several higher-ups at the CW Network.
As a result, there are now efforts to change the original plan of airing NWA programming on television. Some CW executives are pushing for NWA content to be exclusively available on the CW app instead. Billy Corgan, the President of NWA, was informed that CW executives would not watch the pay-per-view events and were solely concerned with the television program.
The backlash on social media following the controversial segment at “Samhain” also caught the attention of the CW Network. This has led to speculation that there is a high probability (around 90%) that NWA programming will only be available on the CW app and not on television.
It is worth noting that Corgan is personally funding a reality show related to NWA, and he serves as its executive producer. The CW Network would aim to profit from the show by selling advertisements. Some CW Network executives were excited about the reality show because it would feature Corgan’s wedding.
Corgan hopes that the additional exposure on the CW Network will result in increased ticket sales and merchandise for the NWA.
