The Rock and Roman Reigns brutalized Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, assaulting and whipping them to close out this week’s episode of WWE RAW.

Rhodes attempted to ‘Rock Bottom’ the People’s Champion, but Reigns saved The Final Boss with a Superman Punch on Rollins and a Spear to Rhodes.

On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Mark Henry critiqued WWE’s direction for Cody on the WrestleMania 40 go-home episode of RAW.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On how he would have liked to see Rhodes come out for the main event segment: “I’d like to see Cody come out there with the clothes that you wear when you don’t want to get arrested. Like, the combat boots, kind of more like a Shield-esque outfit with a ball-peen hammer and a baseball bat, looking to cause bodily harm to The Rock and to Roman Reigns.”

On the mindset he wanted Rhodes to have: “[Roman], you have as much blood on your hands as [The Rock] did of mine. It’s payback, b****. If you’re in the building, I’d leave, because I’m looking for you… ‘I tell you what, you whooped my a*s? Man, it ain’t nowhere on Earth you gonna be safe until I’m satisfied. Don’t go to the gym. Don’t go to your favorite burger spot. I’m going to your kids’ school where you pick them up. [I’m going to] find you. I’m gonna be the most insane, crazy-a*s person that you’ve ever seen, til I get my piece of flesh.’ That’s where Cody needs to be. His headspace needs to be there.”

In a shocking turn of events, The Rock and Roman Reigns unleashed a brutal assault on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins to close out this week’s episode of WWE RAW. The intensity of the attack left fans in awe and raised questions about the direction of Cody’s character leading up to WrestleMania 40.

During a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, former WWE superstar Mark Henry shared his thoughts on the segment and offered his critique of WWE’s approach to Cody’s character development. Henry expressed his desire to see Cody come out for the main event segment in a more aggressive manner, donning attire that reflected his intent to cause bodily harm to The Rock and Roman Reigns.

Henry envisioned Cody wearing combat boots and a Shield-esque outfit, armed with a ball-peen hammer and a baseball bat. This portrayal would have conveyed a sense of danger and revenge, as Cody sought payback for the blood on Roman’s hands, just as The Rock had once done to Henry.

The former WWE star emphasized the importance of Cody’s mindset in this scenario. He believed that Cody should have adopted a relentless determination to seek revenge, sending a clear message to Roman Reigns that he would stop at nothing until he had his piece of flesh. Henry suggested that Cody’s headspace needed to be in a place of insanity and aggression, where he would go to extreme lengths to satisfy his thirst for revenge.

This critique from Mark Henry highlights the potential missed opportunity in developing Cody’s character for the WrestleMania 40 go-home episode of RAW. By portraying Cody as a vengeful force, driven by an unyielding desire for payback, WWE could have created a compelling storyline leading up to the highly anticipated event.

The intensity and brutality displayed by The Rock and Roman Reigns in their assault on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins undoubtedly left fans craving more. The addition of Henry’s suggested character development for Cody would have added an extra layer of excitement and anticipation to the storyline.

As fans eagerly await the next episode of WWE RAW, they can only hope that the creative team takes note of Mark Henry’s critique and explores the potential for Cody’s character to evolve into a relentless force seeking retribution. With WrestleMania 40 on the horizon, the stage is set for an epic showdown between Cody Rhodes and his adversaries, The Rock and Roman Reigns.
