FTR lost the AEW World Tag Team Championships to Big Bill and Ricky Starks in under five minutes this past Saturday on AEW Collision.

It was later reported that the title change had nothing to do with Wheeler’s ongoing legal issues, rather it was due to him dealing with an injury.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Wheeler is legitimately banged up to the point that he was X-rayed, as it was believed he had broken ribs.

However, the X-ray reports have revealed that Wheeler’s ribs are intact and he doesn’t need time off. As a matter of fact, the two teams could have had a full match last week.

The report further suggests that Dax Harwood pitched the title change to create a shocking moment and build to a rematch.

The idea was to do an angle where Wheeler was hurt and Dax had to face Starks and Bill by himself, only to get beaten decisively. Additionally, the idea was to put over Starks and Bill while making Collision an interesting show.

Meanwhile, AEW World Champion MJF recently filmed a supporting role in the upcoming movie ‘Floaters.’

The film stars Seth Green, Steve Guttenberg, and Aya Cash, and was filmed at a Jewish summer camp in upstate New York.

MJF plays the role of a musician. He was described as “incredibly sweet in person.”

MJF also stars in A24’s The Iron Claw which will hit screens this December. He plays Lance Von Erich in that movie.

FTR, consisting of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, recently lost the AEW World Tag Team Championships to Big Bill and Ricky Starks in a surprising turn of events on AEW Collision. However, it has been revealed that Wheeler’s injury, not his ongoing legal issues, was the reason behind the title change.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Wheeler was believed to have broken ribs and was even X-rayed to confirm the extent of his injury. However, the X-ray reports showed that his ribs were intact, and he did not require time off. In fact, both teams could have had a full match last week.

It is reported that Dax Harwood pitched the idea of the title change to create a shocking moment and build up to a rematch. The plan was to have an angle where Wheeler was injured, forcing Dax to face Starks and Bill alone and ultimately get defeated. This decision aimed to put over Starks and Bill while making AEW Collision an interesting show.
