During a recent guest spot on the show Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw, one-time WWE IC and Tag Team Champion – Jacques Rougeau, more popularly known by his ring name ‘The Mountie’, took the chance to heap praises on legendary wrestling character Jimmy Hart.
Rougeau held Hart, a fellow former WWE Hall of Famer, in high esteem as, according to him, the premier manager in the lore of professional wrestling.
In his words: “Jimmy Hart is more than just a pleasant person to be around. One of my specific requirements on returning as The Mountie was for Jimmy Hart to serve as my manager. There certainly have been fantastic managers throughout the industry, but Jimmy Hart stands out as the finest in my opinion.”
He added, “Among his varied contributions, he composed two of our most famous theme songs. An incredible aspect about Jimmy Hart that sets him apart from other managers is his humble attitude. He would seize every opportunity to promote his wrestler and never tried to steal the limelight for himself. His usual approach would be, ‘Let me tell you about my guy here, baby’. He always prioritized his wrestlers above him. From investing his own money in themed jackets with images of his wrestlers on them to ensuring timely and professional presence at every personal appearance throughout our decade-long association, Jimmy was always there.”
Concluding his praise for Hart, Rougeau said, “Hardly anyone can rival his generous nature. He was more than a manager to me, often stepping into the role of coach and mentor in times of need. He’s the most selfless individual I’ve ever met. The world of wrestling hasn’t seen a better manager… Jimmy Hart is indeed the best!”
