Alexander Hammerstone has made MLW history. Your first (and only) National Openweight Champion of Major League Wrestling is sure to be celebrating by intimidating ducks or shredding some obscure tune on guitar as he rings in one full year as title holder. At MLW Fury Road on June 1, 2019, Hammerstone defeated Brian Pillman Jr. to secure the belt to add further prestige (and gold) to the ranks of The Dynasty. The following post was made on MLW.com:

One year ago today live on national television Alex Hammerstone marched into Milwaukee’s Waukesha Expo as the history finals for the inaugural National Openweight Championship were held on beIN SPORTS.

Battling bad weather and several flight delays, the Phoenix powerhouse nearly missed his own main event live on television. Changing into his gear in the confined quarters of the airplane bathroom, Hammerstone dashed to the arena where he soon thereafter walked out for the main event in his first-ever championship clash in MLW.

Displaying power, ring generalship and an unrelenting tenaciousness, Hammerstone would emerge from a hard fought championship fight as the winner, making history as the first-ever #MLW National Openweight Champion.

Over the past 365 days Hammerstone has continued at a dynastic pace as he dominated top challengers from promoters from around the world.

The longest reigning champion in MLW, Hammerstone has successfully defended the title against the best from Japan, Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico and the US.

Along the way “Your Boy Hammer” has become a force in MLW as a member of the Dynasty. Routinely ranked #1 in the Top 10 rankings for almost as long as he’s been the National Openweight Champ, Hammerstone recently celebrated his new MLW contract by sharing a list of goals on MLW’s new digital series Pulp FUSION (watch).

Could a title versus title showdown be on the horizon?
