During the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, AJ Styles hinted at a possible retirement, surprising fans with a Mark Henry-like twist. In the main event, Styles stepped into the ring to talk about his future in wrestling. Revealing he had recently attended his son’s graduation, he began to question the number of family moments he has missed. Styles, a former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, suggested that it might be time for him to retire and focus on being a father. This declaration was shared with his O.C. teammates, followed by an emotional group hug.

However, the plot thickened as Styles invited Cody Rhodes to the ring and expressed gratitude for their past match at WWE Backlash 2024. He indicated it was a career highlight and an appropriate way to bow out. After hugging and posing with Rhodes, Styles unexpectedly attacked him, executing a Styles Clash move from the steel steps.

The segment also highlighted LA Knight’s interest in Logan Paul’s US Championship. Unfortunately for Knight, Paul appeared to be uninterested in the challenge. Knight confirmed in a later conversation with Kayla Braxton that he had his sights set on Paul’s title. In response, Paul aired his sentiments on Twitter stating, “[My future] doesn’t involve you”.

Below are some of the memorable moments from the night, shared on Twitter:
The first tweet hints at AJ Styles considering retirement and being a “phenomenal father.”
The second tweet showcases Styles expressing his gratitude to Cody Rhodes and symbolically handing over the reigns of his WWE legacy.
The final tweet captures the shocking moment where Styles turns on Rhodes, revealing his retirement tease was just a trap.
