On the 7th of March, the wrestling organization All Elite Wrestling submitted a trademark application for the phrase “AEW Spring Breakthru.”
In the list of official trademark details, it is described as:
“Entertainment manifesting as wrestling contests; Entertainment offerings in the form of live pro wrestling performances; Entertainment provisions in the form of creation of professional wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, to be specific, creation and distribution of regular TV programs in the field of professional wrestling.”
Will Ospreay expressed gratitude to Chris Jericho for providing invaluable advice following a hazardous incident inside the ring in 2018. Jericho’s insights focused on the crucial requirement to safeguard oneself and circumvent unnecessary risks during matches.
Ospreay gave emphasis to the extent to which Jericho’s seasoned experience enlightened him on the long-lasting implications of wrestling and the strategic approach to matches to evade injury. He said,
“Indeed, he called me up. I had been reckless. I injured my neck back in 2018, and haven’t been the same since. It happend during a match with Marty [Scurll]. We executed the Spanish Fly and my head collided with the apron, causing my neck to twist underneath me. I felt everything, including the shock coursing down my arm. It was horrifying and I’ve never been the same thereafter. A month later, KUSHIDA and I were wrestling, and we performed a DDT from the apron to the floor. I was all right, I perfectly controlled my body on landing, but it looked terrifying nonetheless. Jericho contacted me and advised, ‘Hey, look, please take care of yourself. Choose your falls. There’s no need to constantly execute such dangerous moves.’ That got through to me. It implied a lot, particularly because during that time, Jericho would only periodically visit New Japan. The fact that he expended his precious time to discuss my well-being implied he genuinely cared. In fact, each time I’ve interacted with Chris, he’s consistently shared insightful advice. Even here, whenever I make promotional errors, he’s quick to point them out and explain the reason behind the mistake. This helps me understand better. He’s been a supremely helpful presence backstage. Whenever I go, ‘What do you think of this?’ he responds with commendable honesty.”
