Taz would be fine if his son HOOK chose to part ways with AEW in favor of joining WWE, according to WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff.
It was reported earlier this month that the FTW Champion is interested in exploring his free agency once his contract with AEW expires later this year.
A source familiar with WWE’s recruitment strategy told Sescoops “I can see WWE clearly being interested in him.”
On a recent edition of his “83 Weeks” podcast, Bischoff was asked if HOOK joining WWE would be an awkward situation for Taz, who is also with AEW. He said,
“Will Tony have an issue with it? Your guess is as good as mine. Taz won’t. I don’t know HOOK. I don’t know him as a person, so I can’t honestly have an opinion. I wouldn’t think so.
“Fortunately, HOOK’s got a father who understands the business and has been through it in every way, shape, or form. He understands the business and knows how to make the right decisions, so I suspect HOOK, by virtue of proximity, has some of those same feelings and perspectives that I for one hope, because I’m friends with Taz.
“I like Taz and I hope as a father, that HOOK gets the f**k out of there as fast as he can. If he’s got an opportunity at NXT, or in WWE in any way, shape, or form, take it.”
Taz’s Son HOOK Considering WWE Move: Eric Bischoff Weighs In
There has been recent speculation about the future of HOOK, the son of professional wrestler Taz, and his potential move from All Elite Wrestling (AEW) to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has shared his thoughts on the matter, stating that Taz would be supportive of his son’s decision.
According to reports, HOOK, who currently holds the FTW Championship, is interested in exploring his options once his contract with AEW expires later this year. A source familiar with WWE’s recruitment strategy has also expressed that the company would be interested in signing HOOK.
During a recent episode of his “83 Weeks” podcast, Bischoff was asked about the potential awkwardness of HOOK joining WWE while his father remains with AEW. Bischoff responded by saying that he believes Taz would not have an issue with it, but he cannot speak for HOOK himself as he does not know him personally.
Bischoff went on to highlight the advantage HOOK has in having a father who understands the wrestling business and has experienced it in various ways. He expressed his hope that HOOK would make the right decision for his career, even if it means leaving AEW for WWE.
As a friend of Taz, Bischoff stated that he supports HOOK’s potential move to WWE and hopes that he takes any opportunity that comes his way, whether it be in NXT or any other capacity within the company.
The comments from Bischoff reflect the understanding and support that exists within the wrestling community when it comes to talent making career moves. It is not uncommon for wrestlers to switch promotions throughout their careers, seeking new challenges and opportunities.
HOOK’s potential move to WWE would undoubtedly generate interest and excitement among fans. As the son of a respected veteran like Taz, HOOK has the advantage of being familiar with the inner workings of the industry and the guidance of his experienced father.
While it remains to be seen whether HOOK will indeed make the move to WWE, the speculation surrounding his future adds an intriguing element to the ongoing rivalry between AEW and WWE. Fans will be eagerly watching to see what decision HOOK ultimately makes and how it will impact his career moving forward.
In the world of professional wrestling, talent movement is a constant, and wrestlers often have to make difficult choices for their careers. Whether HOOK decides to stay with AEW or explore new opportunities in WWE, one thing is certain: his decision will shape his future in the industry and leave a lasting impact on fans and fellow wrestlers alike.
