Being The Elite Joins The Marathon And Calls Out For A Villain

Amongst all the normal shenanigans, there are a few interesting hints at AEW happenings in this week’s episode of Being the Elite. We start things off with Kenny and the Bucks mocking Triple H’s “It’s not a marathon” quote from AEW’s debut week. Now that NXT has evened things out with the upstarts, they’re using the same line in a mock marathon.
The very next segment has Matt Jackson calling an unknown wrestler who won’t pick up the phone. Amongst the jokey search results on the phone (which gets a deliberate zoom in), there are two references to “The Villain” Marty Scurll. Marty is, of course, the last piece of the Elite puzzle. He recently ended his ROH contract and his next destination is up in the air, although many believe that it’s only a matter of time before he arrives in AEW.
Near the end of the episode, we also get Nick Jackson revealing the cause of AEW’s audio issues early on in last week’s Dynamite. According to him, the satellites in Georgia that broadcast the show were on the fritz, which affected the entire TNT network. Finally, to close things out, we get a tease from both Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa about joining the Dark Order to turn around their losing ways.
