Tony Khan’s Plan: 10 AEW Pay-Per-View Events Scheduled for 2024

During Thursday’s AEW Revolution 2024 media call, AEW President Tony Khan discussed the company expanding its pay-per-view event schedule this year.

In 2023, AEW held eight pay-per-view events, increasing from the five held in 2022. And that number is likely to increase to ten in 2024.

Khan said, “I could see this year being nine to ten. Nine is probably a good sweet spot. It feels like that’s about the right number. I don’t want to make a huge change or increase, but definitely, eight was incredibly successful and I don’t want to do anything totally different, but I do see an opening for nine, probably, and maybe ten. Nine feels like a great number for us, in particular when you also consider I put on three Ring of Honor streaming events annually, that puts AEW doing our nine strongest events plus the ROH’s three strongest events.”

AEW’s next pay-per-view event, Revolution 2024, is scheduled for Sunday, March 3.

AEW President Tony Khan has announced that the company plans to expand its pay-per-view event schedule in 2024. During a media call for AEW Revolution 2024, Khan revealed that the company is likely to hold nine to ten pay-per-view events this year, up from the eight events held in 2023 and the five events held in 2022.

Khan expressed his satisfaction with the success of the eight pay-per-view events held in 2023 and stated that he doesn’t want to make a drastic change or increase in the number of events. However, he sees an opportunity to add one or two more events to the schedule. Khan believes that nine pay-per-view events would be a great number for AEW, especially when considering the three Ring of Honor (ROH) streaming events that AEW also puts on annually.

The decision to expand the pay-per-view event schedule reflects AEW’s growing popularity and success in the wrestling industry. Since its inception in 2019, AEW has quickly established itself as a major player in the wrestling world, providing fans with an alternative to WWE. The company has gained a loyal fan base and has received critical acclaim for its high-quality matches and storytelling.

By increasing the number of pay-per-view events, AEW aims to provide fans with more opportunities to witness their favorite wrestlers in action and to further develop ongoing storylines. Pay-per-view events are considered the pinnacle of professional wrestling, featuring marquee matchups and often culminating in significant title changes or major story developments. These events offer fans a chance to experience the excitement and drama of live wrestling from the comfort of their homes.

AEW Revolution 2024, the next pay-per-view event on the schedule, is set to take place on Sunday, March 3. This event promises to deliver thrilling matches and captivating storylines, as AEW continues to push boundaries and entertain its dedicated fan base.

With the expansion of the pay-per-view event schedule, AEW is demonstrating its commitment to providing fans with a consistent stream of high-quality wrestling content. The company’s willingness to adapt and evolve reflects its ambition to become a major force in the industry and challenge the dominance of established wrestling promotions.

As AEW continues to grow and expand, fans can look forward to more exciting pay-per-view events and memorable moments in the world of professional wrestling. The increased number of events will undoubtedly create more opportunities for wrestlers to shine and for fans to engage with the AEW product. With Tony Khan at the helm, AEW is poised to make a significant impact on the wrestling landscape in 2024 and beyond.
