As we reported earlier this week here on eWn, WWE NXT General Manager Ava recently deleted her Twitter account after getting death threats over her father’s storyline going into the WrestleMania 40 pay-per-view event.
When asked about his daughter recieving death threats over her dad trying to take Cody Rhodes’ spot in the main event of WrestleMania 40, The Rock told Pat McAfee the following,
“She’s feeling [the backlash] too. ‘Oh yeah, Cody’s gotta finish his story.’ By the way, she’s also got death threats. It’s crazy. Like come on guys, we’re all in this thing.”
He continued, “And by the way, what happens in the middle of the ring and on these storylines, don’t forget that, again, inside baseball – outside the ring, we all talk. We all can figure this thing out while working together.”
At Thursday night’s WrestleMania XL Kickoff press conference, it was announced that Cody Rhodes will be facing off against Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 40.
In the world of professional wrestling, storylines and rivalries are a crucial part of the entertainment. However, sometimes fans take these storylines a bit too seriously and cross the line between fiction and reality. This was evident when WWE NXT General Manager Ava received death threats on social media due to her father’s involvement in a storyline leading up to WrestleMania 40.
The incident came to light earlier this week when Ava decided to delete her Twitter account after being bombarded with hateful messages. The threats were a result of her father’s attempt to take Cody Rhodes’ spot in the main event of WrestleMania 40. The Rock, a legendary wrestler and Ava’s father, spoke out about the situation during an interview with Pat McAfee.
The Rock expressed his disappointment and concern over the death threats his daughter had received. He emphasized that everyone involved in the wrestling industry, including the fans, should remember that it is all part of a scripted show. He urged fans to understand that the storylines and events that take place inside the ring are not reflective of real-life situations.
Furthermore, The Rock highlighted the importance of communication and collaboration among wrestlers, both inside and outside the ring. He emphasized that they all work together to create compelling storylines and entertaining matches. The Rock’s comments shed light on the behind-the-scenes dynamics of professional wrestling and how wrestlers collaborate to deliver a captivating product.
In response to the controversy surrounding Ava’s situation, WWE made an announcement at the WrestleMania XL Kickoff press conference. It was revealed that Cody Rhodes would be facing off against Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 40. This decision aimed to address the concerns raised by fans and ensure a fair and exciting matchup for the highly anticipated event.
The incident involving Ava and the subsequent response from WWE highlight the blurred lines between fiction and reality in professional wrestling. While fans’ passion for their favorite wrestlers and storylines is understandable, it is crucial to remember that it is all part of a scripted show. Death threats and harassment have no place in the world of professional wrestling or any form of entertainment.
As fans, it is important to appreciate the hard work and dedication that wrestlers put into their craft. They entertain us and create memorable moments, but they also deserve respect and understanding. Let’s enjoy the spectacle of professional wrestling while keeping in mind that it is all part of an elaborate performance that brings joy to millions of fans worldwide.
