Wes Lee signed with WWE in December 2020 after establishing his abilities on the independent scene and in Impact Wrestling.

Lee is the existing NXT North American Champion in his very first reign. On October 22, 2022 at NXT Halloween Havoc, Lee won the uninhabited NXT North American Title in a five-man ladder match.

While talking to “The Ten Count” podcast, Lee exposed that there was a chance for him to sign with WWE 5 years earlier. He stated,

“There was a scenario about 5 years ago where the chance existed to us a little earlier on, however interaction didn’t rather take place. I was bouncing around the globe at the time, so it was rather tough to get in contact with me. In the time duration they wished to connect to me, I was hectic at the time and not able to reach back out with them.”

“Once the best minute occurred and we had the ability to go over things and develop an intend on how we were going to progress with whatever, you understand that sensation of right prior to a storm will strike and there is that strange calm? You can feel the temperature level modification, you feel rain will come, you feel in your bones that something will take place, that’s what I felt, however there were never ever any storm cloud, never ever a storm, simply a calm over my existence in this life time. ‘Okay, you’re where you require to be now. You’re going to be doing what you’re expected to do. Follow through with whatever you have and your life will be the method you desire it to be.’ Having that telephone call actually let me understand that I was on the appropriate course.”

Lee will protect the title versus Donovan Dijak at NXT Vengeance Day.
