WWE Files Trademarks For New Show, Several NXT StarsWWE

WWE regularly files trademarks, and some of them never come to fruition. It’s probably time to say goodbye to “Shorty G”, but the new round issued today seem to be much more useful in the short term.

The most notable new acquisition is for “WWE’s The Bump.” This is going to be the name of a program of some kind, “providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media.” This sounds like it could be the name of WWE’s upcoming Fox Sports broadcast, which is rumored to be hosted by Renee Young. It would likely be a wrapup program similar to some of WWE’s current YouTube output.

The rest of today’s trademarks include new stars appearing in NXT. With the new Wednesday show starting this week, WWE will be keeping an even more watchful eye on what’s coming from the black and gold brand. To that end, the names of Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, Riddick Moss, Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel are now protected by WWE.
