Welcome back to another eWrestlingNews Query of the Day!
WWE has finally declared the so-called “complete” line-ups for each day of WrestleMania 41. I used quotation marks for complete because the match card is constantly subject to revisions, and after the initial announcements, alterations have been witnessed. For instance, Rhea Ripley was added to the match between Iyo Sky and Bianca Belair, and the contest involving Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest was updated to a Sin City Street Fight, and so on. I also have a hunch that Randy Orton might have some kind of match on the cards.
So, my query for you all today is, “What should be the opening move and how would you order each match on the cards for Saturday and Sunday?”
Do leave your replies in the comments section below.
As for my take on this…
Considering the announced matches, I’d start the first night with Gunther going against Jey Uso. Besides the high stakes and being the World Heavyweight Championship match, there’s a chance for the title to change hands, which would kick start WrestleMania with a bang.
Next up, Rey Mysterio versus El Grande Americano would cool down the fans a bit. Given it’s a standard game, I’d back Chad Gable for the win.
It’s time to rev up with the first women’s match where Jade Cargill might beat Naomi. If they’re planning on Naomi delivering an upset or Rey winning against Gable, then switch the order.
Another favored win by The New Day over The War Raiders will serve as a wake up call to the spectators expecting title changes. Another title-winning singles bout featuring LA Knight against Jacob Fatu should follow, warranting a change from the single-duel streak.
Tiffany Stratton vs. Charlotte Flair should be next in the line-up since it would be as important as being semi-main event. The night should end on a high note with the three-way grand finale featuring CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins.
Sunday’s line-up is trickier for me, but I’d likely begin with the Women’s World Championship Triple Threat match, which would certainly get the crowd excited. Ripley, Belair, and Sky deserve this spot despite the lackluster build-up.
If not the triple threat match, then the Intercontinental Championship Fatal 4-Way could take the first spot. However, with the women’s match as my opening choice, I’d shift AJ Styles vs. Logan Paul as the second match.
Then switch focus to the Sin City Street Fight, having a single contest yet with no disqualifications. Afterwards, present the Intercontinental Championship Fatal 4-Way, proposing a regular match without any count-outs.
The women’s tag titles should be next. Unfortunately, it will likely act as a buffer since it’s unlikely to be at par with the other matches in terms of viewer interest.
I’d propose a surprise segment with Randy Orton here, as viewers will be anticipating the main event. Let it be an open challenge from The Viper and have someone like Nick Aldis, Aleister Black, or Miro accept the challenge for a spontaneous match.
The grand spectacle should obviously culminate with Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena.
