AEW’s President Tony Khan held a meeting with Shane McMahon last week at an exclusive airfield in Arlington, Texas.
The purpose of their get-together was to explore potential future ventures. Khan has been open and willing to hold discussions with McMahon for quite some time now.
Khan described his recent encounter with McMahon while in conversation with ESPN.

Discussing his meeting with Shane McMahon, Khan noted, “From what I gather, he is not connected with WWE at the moment, and our interaction was quite pleasant. I caught wind from many sources mentioning his interest in holding a discussion, and it culminated in a massive media stir. This compelled me to react to on-record queries, which I did just like I’m doing now. Prior to this, I hadn’t made his acquaintance. However, my introductory chat with him was surrounded by a plethora of buzz. Considering all this, I deemed it worth a talk. I’ve always held a ton of respect for him. While I’d never met him before, he exuded positivity and seemed like a genuinely nice gentleman. Upon sitting down with him, I found him delightful.”
Commenting on how savvy Shane McMahon is within the realm of wrestling, Khan revealed, “Our conversation was thoroughly enjoyable. He is exceptionally knowledgeable about the wrestling industry, and I thought he was an extraordinary individual. We share many mutual friends and coincided in Dallas. A well-known figure in professional wrestling, and a mutual friend, connected us over a group chat. The dialogue was pleasant, and I truly cherished the meeting.”
Regarding an unexpected click while the meeting, Khan said, “Evidently, there was noticeable interest concerning our meeting. During a discourse in an airport meeting room, someone barged in and snapped a photograph. I have no issues with it. The conversation was entertaining, and there is absolutely nothing wrong when two individuals unite to converse about wrestling. That’s a crucial element that enhances the greatness of wrestling. There are numerous topics to discuss and all of us are fervent followers at the core. It’s a prominent matter. It’s exhilarating, and it was good to converse with him. I am uncertain about what the future holds, but these are thrilling times in AEW.”
