Bryan Danielson and Mariah May Clinch the Owen Hart Cup, May Betrays Toni Storm

A bloody and exciting evening for AEW Dynamite concluded with the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament champions of 2024 being determined and two key matches for AEW All In: London being confirmed.

The men’s tournament saw Bryan Danielson triumph over “Hangman” Adam Page in a close contest. Danielson, also known as The American Dragon, clinched a hard-earned pinfall following a last-minute escape from Page’s potentially match-ending submission hold.

Following the exhilarating win, Danielson is poised for a face-off against Swerve Strickland at AEW All In 2024 in Wembley for the coveted AEW World Championship. Their epic encounter on AEW Dynamite’s Title Tuesday episode back in October 2023 offers a hint of what to expect in this thrilling duel.

The prestigious Women’s Owen Hart Cup also came to a head on AEW Dynamite’s main event. Mariah May emerged triumphant against Willow Nightingale, the 2023 victor, clinching a title match against her companion, “Timeless” Toni Storm, for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

However, their friendship took a hit as May betrayed Storm during their post-bout celebration.

An elated Storm was shocked when May brutally attacked her with the ceremonial championship belt and even went on to assault Luther in the same ruthless manner, causing him to fall off the stage through a set of tables.

In a relentless assault, May further harmed Storm, leaving her in a bloodied state, and declared they will wrestle for the women’s title at the pay-per-view event on August 25th.

With these developments, the event schedule for AEW All In now includes two confirmed matches:

  • AEW Women’s World Championship: “Timeless” Toni Storm (c) (accompanied by Luther) vs. Mariah May
  • AEW World Championship: Swerve Strickland (c) (with Prince Nana) vs. Bryan Danielson
