Ricochet has now officially transitioned to free agency status.
Fightful Select’s report confirms that Ricochet’s tenure with WWE formally concluded at the stroke of midnight on July 1. Interestingly, just a few hours prior to the expiration of his contract, WWE updated his standing on their website to ‘alumnus’. This development took place on June 30, ruling out his appearance at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024 event.
While there’s been widespread speculation around his potential move to AEW, there are suggestions that a bout with Will Ospreay during the upcoming All In 2024 pay-per-view occasion was not slated in the latest plans.
In the weeks leading up to his departure, Ricochet’s appearances on WWE television were already being phased out, fuelled by an incident with Bron Breakker. His absence from subsequent TV tapings further indicated his impending exit. Despite Ricochet’s absence, it’s believed that Samantha Irvin’s association with WWE is set to proceed uninterrupted.
As the clouds of uncertainty loom over Ricochet’s career trajectory following his WWE stint, AEW is increasingly coming into the spotlight as a probable suitor.
Ricochet bidding adieu to WWE indeed marks the end of an impactful journey, while also fuelling speculation and intrigue regarding his forthcoming endeavors in the professional wrestling sphere.
