Today we bring you a series of updates on injuries among AEW wrestlers.
Tony Khan, the President of AEW, revealed through his Twitter account that Wheeler Yuta has been given the green light to return to the ring after a period of absence. He will be seen in an eight-member tag team match in this Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite. His team, the Blackpool Combat Club, will be going head to head against Esfinge & Los Depredadores of CMLL.
The match card for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite is as follows:
– AEW World Championship Match: Swerve Strickland vs. Roderick Strong
– Blackpool Combat Club vs. Volador Jr, Magnus, Rugido, & Esfinge
– Match between Mariah May and Saraya
– ‘TV Time’ segment featuring Chris Jericho
– The return of MJF.
Moreover, Chuck Taylor has been absent from AEW programming following a disagreement with Trent Baretta, culminating in a Parking Lot Fight on the AEW Rampage episode of April 27th. Taylor has recently offered an update on his condition and discussed the possibility of his returning to the ring in an interview with Renee Paquette.
Highlights from the interview include his sharing of the initial injury details, his experience during the time he was off, his expectations for the future of his career and his changed perspective toward wrestling. Taylor revealed that he sustained an ankle injury in a match on Rampage against the Hardys. Having been wrestling for 23 years, Taylor took this as an opportunity to assess his future and expressed a desire to avoid being ‘a broken down guy’ for the sake of a few more years in the ring.
