Goldberg Declines AEW Offer, Citing Product’s Excessive Cheesiness

While appearing on 93.7 The Ticket, Goldberg said he’s had conversations with Tony Khan about joining AEW.

However, there’s ‘no chance’ of that happening because he thinks the product is “too cheesy.” He said,

I’ve talked to him a number of times throughout the past. But this is where you’re gonna get the most blunt answer you’re gonna get from me. The product’s too cheesy. The product is too cheesy. It doesn’t deserve to have…I mean, whatever. You’re really gonna get me going. But if there was a comparable, viable option as a competitor that would allow me to still look myself in the mirror after I was a member of their roster, yeah, then it would be a consideration. But not a chance.

Goldberg Rejects AEW Offer, Citing “Cheesy” Product

Former WWE superstar Bill Goldberg has revealed that he has had discussions with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) owner Tony Khan about potentially joining the promotion. However, Goldberg made it clear that there is “no chance” of him making the move because he believes the AEW product is “too cheesy.”

In an interview with 93.7 The Ticket, Goldberg expressed his thoughts on AEW and why he would not consider joining the company. He stated, “I’ve talked to him [Tony Khan] a number of times throughout the past. But not a chance.”

Goldberg’s comments come as a surprise to many wrestling fans who may have expected him to potentially make a move to AEW after his contract with WWE expired. The 55-year-old wrestler has had successful stints in both WCW and WWE, and his return to the ring in recent years has garnered significant attention.

AEW has been gaining traction as a major player in the professional wrestling industry, offering an alternative to WWE with its more edgy and athletic style of wrestling. The promotion has also attracted several former WWE stars, including Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley (formerly known as Dean Ambrose), and Cody Rhodes.

While Goldberg’s rejection may disappoint some AEW fans who were hoping to see him in action, it is clear that he prioritizes the quality and credibility of the product he associates himself with. Goldberg’s comments also highlight the ongoing competition between AEW and WWE, as both promotions vie for top talent and audience attention.

It remains to be seen what Goldberg’s next move in the wrestling world will be. Whether he decides to continue his career with WWE or explore other options, one thing is certain – fans will be eagerly awaiting his next appearance in the squared circle.
