Zelina Vega, unfortunately, won’t have an opportunity to defend her title in the upcoming Queen of the Ring Tournament, as medical clearance has not been accorded to her.
Adam Pearce, who serves as the General Manager for WWE RAW, shared this disappointing information on Twitter. The tweet revealed that Vega couldn’t be cleared to participate in her scheduled match at a WWE live event in Macon, Georgia.
As Vega steps down due to unfortunate health reasons, Maxxine Dupri will now face Shayna Baszler, culminating in the final initial round match for the much-anticipated Queen of the Ring tournament.
Speaking in his video announcement, Pearce made a reference to the Vega’s previous win in the Queen’s Crown Tournament back in 2021. He expressed his frustration over repeated injuries affecting the tournament with the words, “the injury bug strikes again.”

The King and Queen of the Ring tournaments have been unfortunately affected by similar situations, with several stars including Drew McIntyre, Asuka, and the 2021 King of the Ring, Xavier Woods, having to step down as well.
