Zelina Vega, a professional wrestler, recently featured on the “Lightweights” podcast where she shared her journey in WWE, her experience in managing Andrade both on NXT and the main roster, and her sense of alienation in the company among other subjects.
In the following, there are a few responses from Vega, highlighted from her podcast conversation:
Explaining her unexpected foray into becoming Andrade’s manager in WWE, Vega said, “I never anticipated managing in my plans, but somehow it just happened, and I sunk into it. When Andrade and I came together, it was as if a bolt of lightning hit and we became an unstoppable force.”
Regarding her initial sense of detachment in NXT, Vega expressed, “I so desperately wanted to be involved in everything going on. I didn’t quite feel a part of the female locker room because you experience a unique kind of bonding after wrestling a person. I didn’t have that sort of rapport. This made me feel somewhat an alien, especially in NXT – I was in the female locker room, but didn’t share that bond with everyone.”
