In the second night of the NJPW G1 Climax 34, Zack Sabre Jr scored a win over Tetsuya Naito. Post-match, Sabre shared his thoughts on the victory.
“My matches against Tetsuya Naito, particularly in the G1, have been numerous. He’s sabotaged my G1, and I’ve sabotaged his. It seems we’re on the same page that neither of us relishes the encounter. But one thing I took great pleasure in was pinning down the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. Though I have achieved this feat before in a G1 block. But that’s not how I see my title match going.”
He went on, “Folks, it’s Zack Sabre at the top of the block, top spot. I’ve had a change of heart. I’m claiming victory over the block as a demonstration of dominance. The man standing before you is the only one who [will seize] the G1 Climax. I represent the essence of Strong Style and the trophy is destined for me.”
Meanwhile, prior to the initiation of the TNA Slammiversary 2024 pre-show, a dark match saw Carl Leduc emerging victorious amid a throng of local wrestling talent.
