Zack Sabre Jr. has secured his position as the A-block leader in the NJPW G1 Climax tournament. Over eight matches, Sabre has bagged 12 points with a record of six wins and two losses in the 34th NJPW G1 Climax tournament.
Following his match, Sabre spoke about his aspirations to become the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. He proclaimed, “Nagaoka, I pledge to you that not only will I be the victor of the G1 Climax 34, but I’m also going to be the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. SANADA, I’ve never shied away from expressing my admiration for SANADA’s talent, technique, or personality. I harbor respect and esteem for every aspect of SANADA, but as an admirer of SANADA, SANADA, what are your intentions? I was already spearheading the block. I contested that match as if everything hinged upon it. I was already leading the block. That is what distinguishes me from the rest. Not in this tournament, not in this company, but in this industry. I combat like it matters every time. SANADA, don’t you desire to reclaim your top position? We belong to the same generation. These pompous individuals, seven dwarves and the five musketeers, will have their moment because the potential in everyone is exceptionally high. But SANADA, we’re the chosen ones. They are the upcoming generation. We are the present generation. You’re my generational rival, SANADA. I’m going to be the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion sooner rather than later. Don’t you desire this match to hold the utmost stakes? With the talent that you possess, no one in Japan could outmatch me and SANADA. SANADA, you must stop messing about, mates, and regain consciousness because nobody can thwart my progress. The G1 Climax belongs to me, and while that phrase is associated with English football, it resonates in both contexts. I’m residing in Tokyo, so upon claiming the trophy, it will be coming back home to Tokyo. You can find me at RevPro on August 24th, where, having secured the G1 Climax Festival, I’ll bring the trophy back to England for celebrations. But I need to secure this Win, I must take the tournament first. Two down. Who am I going to face-off in the semifinals with? Who would I prefer? Can Takeshita still make it?”
