In the latest episode of WWE RAW, questions began to circulate around the unity of The New Day, with Xavier Woods hinting towards an uncertain future for the well-liked group.
During the RAW episode, Woods was unsuccessful in securing the Intercontinental Championship, adding to his ongoing struggles and implying a potential villainous turn.
Despite his loss to Jey Uso, Woods didn’t extend his hand for the customary post-bell handshake. Furthermore, when Bron Breakker initiated an attack on Jey, Woods chose not to intervene and support his supposed ally.
In a digital-only clip from WWE RAW, Kofi Kingston confronted Woods on his recent actions, particularly his lack of assistance during Jey’s scuffle. In his defense, Woods remarked,
“I’m tired of it always being on me. It’s always gonna be on me. First, I gotta go out there, I lose to Jey Uso. A match for the Intercontinental Championship. Then, I gotta get up, shake his hand, and thank him for the match? Then on top of that, I gotta go in the ring and make sure that he doesn’t get his ass kicked? When is it not on me anymore, man?”
Kingston then noted that if the situations were flipped, Jey would have surely come to Woods’s rescue. Woods didn’t deny this but expressed his displeasure with not having his gameplan followed. He questioned,
“Yeah, but I also remember you saying that I was the QB. I call the play, and you run it. But that just hasn’t been happening so far, has it?… I don’t know. I don’t know what we’re doing. I don’t know.”
