Professional wrestler Xavier Woods is grappling with self-doubt after his unsuccessful attempt to seize the WWE Speed Championship this week.
During the most recent airing of WWE Speed, Woods was defeated by Andrade, the second person ever to hold the Speed Champion title, which he won from Ricochet.
Woods openly expressed his disappointment about his loss in a WWE Digital Exclusive. He stated,
“I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t do it. I battled through the ranks of the tournament and rose to being the prime contender. I managed to secure a shot at the title, and even then, I couldn’t pull it off. I boast significantly, and I’ve been in the wrestling industry for two decades. I believed this was my moment. This is the time when self-doubt creeps in, ‘Am I skilled enough for this?’ Sure, I can be part of a tag team, arguably the most celebrated tag team, leading to what could be a Hall of Fame career. But when it comes to single competition, you begin to question your worth.”
WWE Speed is exclusively shown on Twitter and uniquely, the title is not defended on TV shows or pay-per-view events. However, on television, Woods has been embroiled in a rivalry with the Final Testament.
A tweet from the official WWE account captures Woods’ dilemma after his intense match for the WWE Speed Championship:
“After a fierce #WWESpeed Championship Match, @AustinCreedWins finds himself with more questions than answers…”- WWE (@WWE) July 5, 2024.
