The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently unveiled information regarding the upcoming shift of the WWE archives to Netflix from January, coinciding with the halt of WWE Network operations outside the U.S.
Specific WWE past materials will be accessible on the international Netflix platform, but in a significantly smaller quantity compared to the offerings on the WWE Network or Peacock in the U.S. The implications of this change won’t take full effect in the U.S. until 2026 when the existing contract between WWE and Peacock expires.
The future status of archival materials on Netflix post-2026, along with Premium Live Events (PLEs), is not clear at the moment. However, Netflix seems to be the more viable option considering its rights outside the U.S.
Netflix has plans to upload a total of 41 pay-per-view events on the first day of the new year. These will be the only PPV events available on the streaming service. The content plan includes a variety of shows, spanning from Bad Blood to WrestleMania, and including multiple editions of the WrestleMania and Royal Rumble.
Furthermore, certain older NXT, RAW, and SmackDown episodes will be made available with new episodes being aired live. It is yet to be determined whether this plan will stand on days when numerous WWE episodes are recorded simultaneously.
On February 7, Netflix plans to supplement their collection with six additional pay-per-view events: Armageddon, Great American Bash, Insurrextion, Night of Champions, Stomping Grounds, and Vengeance.
Finally, on March 21, more events including Breakdown, Great Balls of Fire, Greatest Royal Rumble, One Night Stand, Roadblock: End of the Line, Super Show-Down, TLC, and Unforgiven, will be added to the Netflix platform.
